Scallions (also known as leeks, leeks, and lettuce) are vegetables made from various types of Scallions . Scallions have a milder flavor than most onions. Their close relatives are garlic, shallots, scallions, leeks, and Chinese shallots.
Although the bulbs of many Scallions are used for food, a characteristic feature of Scallions is that they do not have fully developed bulbs. Like all Scallions, the scales have green, hollow tubular leaves that grow directly from the tuber. This leaf is used as a vegetable; eaten raw or cooked. The leaves are often cut into other dishes such as onions or garlic. Leeks, also called husks or leeks, are actually very young onions that are harvested before they have a chance to swell.
